TESSERA

Migration

/tessera migrate converts the items of another item plugin into Tessera items and copies their models and textures into the Tessera pack.

/tessera migrate # every plugin folder with item configs
/tessera migrate plugins/MyItems # one folder, relative to the server root

Tab completion lists the folders it found. The other plugin does not have to be installed or running, only its folder has to be there.

Recognised layouts

The format is read from the folder layout:

LayoutLooks likeRead
Namespacedcontents/<namespace>/configs/*.yml, or data/items_packs/info.namespace; items.<id>.display_name, lore, resource.material, generate, textures, model_path, model_id
Flatitems/*.yml with a Pack section per itemitemname or displayname, material, lore, Pack.model, generate_model, parent_model, textures/texture, custom_model_data

Assets are copied from contents/<namespace>/resourcepack/assets, contents/<namespace>/textures and models, data/resource_pack/assets, pack/assets, and the flat pack/textures and pack/models folders.

What you get

The items go into plugins/Tessera/items/migrated_<folder>.yml:

ruby_sword:
  material: DIAMOND_SWORD
  display_name: <red>Ruby <#ff8800>Sword
  lore:
  - <gray>Sharp
  custom_model_data: 1001
  model: minecraft:item/migrated/ruby_sword
  • & and § color codes, &#rrggbb and &x&r&r&g&g&b&b become MiniMessage. MiniMessage tags that were already there are kept.
  • An item that had custom model data keeps the number, so copies already in players' inventories still render. If the number is taken on that material, a new one is assigned and the console says so.
  • An item without custom model data gets an item_model instead.
  • An item that only lists textures gets a generated model with item/generated or its own parent.
  • An id that Tessera already uses gets the folder name in front, such as myitems_ruby_sword.
  • An unknown material falls back to PAPER, with a warning.

Everything reloads at the end. Run /tessera pack doctor afterwards to see whether any model or texture did not make it.

Not migrated

Mechanics, abilities, durability, enchantments, recipes, blocks and furniture. Those have to be set up again in Tessera's own files.
